8050 Woman in Love
[by S. David] [art by Bayou Faiza]

And they pervade
Your body
Your being
Your posture
Your carriage
Your face
When emotions
Run strong
Run hot
There is
A set
To a person
Others
Some others
Can see
Perhaps it is
That mysterious
Body glow
And here
In the pool
In the bath
He looked
At her back
And he knew
She was yes
She was
In love
But was it
With him

8038 Perdida de la inocencia
[by S. David] [art by Julia Fernandez]

Time love
The toys
Put them aside
You’ve put
Your toes in
Kicked off
Your heels
Kicked up
Your heels
No no waste
And only in
A vestige
A loss of
Innocence
For you are
You are
And butterflies
Ecstatic
Butterflies
Flitter
Though
Tasted
You still
Taste
Of that
Joy that
Beguiled
Smile love
Bring me
You again
Found

War
Which war
Any war
Since ideology
Reared
Its ugly head
Any war
And there is
Death
Maiming
Tears
Grief
Separation
But life reaches
Out must
Reaffirm
Itself and
Goodbyes
Passion
And children
And war
Strikes home
Winners
Losers
Children
Of the war
Any war
Maimed
Behold what
War has done
Let the architects
Fight
The wars

8014 Angel
[by S. David] [art by Kristina Carroll]

But she came
To earth
No it couldn’t
Have been on
A mission
From above
The God is
Not that cruel
No she must
Have come
On vacation
Fell in with
The wrong crowd
They must have
Converted her
Perverted her
Or was she
In reality
A human
A woman
Named ‘Angel’
On yes an Angel
Angel of
The Night
A sinning
Tattooed
Bitch who’ll
Spread and
Make you pay
To play
Or else
Or maybe
Just ‘or else’

8016 The Last Sunset
[by S. David] [art by Kristina Carroll]

The flow
The thrumming
The drumming
In her body
In her arteries
In her veins
Begins
She had fallen
She had loved
In nightdark
His home
His dwelling
Heavy drapes
Had blocked
The day
The light
She had stayed
A night
A day
And the lust
The sex
Too powerful
Too much
Lust
Blind Lust
He was in her
And caresses
And kisses
Became nibbles
Became a bite
And she left
Bleeding
Into her
Last sunset
She would be
She now was

The colors of life
Change
The colors of memory
Change
Apart
Not as if
It never was
But
The colors change
She looks back
What was warm
What was bright
Now blue
And life
Continues
They walked
Together
So long
Treading no
Dancing on
The Spiral Path
Together
Yellow bright
Red fire
And now
Apart
Separation
Alone in
Her thoughts
The colors
Changed

Behind the Red Curtain 1
[by S. David] [art by Gregory Sanville]

Christ he was afraid
To really speak to her
Couldn’t open his heart
He knew her mother
Didn’t like him trust him
Worth a damn so before
They sat together on
The couch he went over
Pulled the red curtain open
Stepped back in amazed
Disgust sitting in the
Alcove behind the red
Curtain was her mother
He turned back to her
“Did you know” “No”
He took her arm said
“Let’s go let’s leave
Are you ready” and so
She left the house of
Her mother never turning
Back to see now there’s
Definitely a moral here
Somewhere if you
Find it out me know

The Goddess and the Sphinx
[by S. David] [art by Rich Buckler]

It was a meeting
Talked about for ages
Over the ages
Bastet she
Decided to
Go for tea
With the Sphinx
And so one fine day
They made
Themselves
Comfortable
On one of
Those worlds
That cater to
Such whims
A jolly time
Was had by both
So much so
They decided
To go for
A lope
Together
And a mighty
Run it was
Tired they took
Their ease on
A hot world
To get some
Sun in
Seeing them
So relaxed
Was such
A delight
I decided to keep
The memory

Without
Within
But what is

Does he mean
Ah sensuality
In dreams
In parts
And parts
And fingertips
Trace legs lips
Ah to kiss
But my eye
I see
And Dali
Remembered
Still
Remains

Incantation [1]
[by S. David] [art by Daniel Victor]

Aye, they’re witches
Young ones, I could tell,
Their bodies firm,
Juicy, worth dwelling
On, even in, if you’re
One such as I. They
Came that night to
The forest to work
An incantation, deep
Spells to call forth
A denizen of the
Seventh Plane, why?
I was not sure for
A time, but I did
Observe the beginning
Workings, almost
From the start. Naturally,
It was after the very
First spell when they
Undressed and brought
Up the green mist
That I became aware
That they were there,
Trespassing on my land.
At their third spell, I
Took control, took control
Of them and rode
Each one hard and
Long until their bodies
Could orgasm no longer.
In turn, I let each
One rest then took
Them again. They should
Learn to ask an Unseleighe
Lord before they attempt
To use his land.

Conceiving
[by S. David] [art by Anna Ravliuc]

Doorway between
Two dimensions
Two realities
More like between
Fantasy and
Reality
But the Veil
Was thin
And exploding
Into another
World
As if
The door way
Was a womb
Birthing
Full formed
They left
They entered
Snorting in
The new air
Their like
Only stories
From myth
And legend
And one by one
The herd came to
Looked into
An artist’s
Cabin
An artist’s
Forest retreat
Then with neighs
And a flashing
Of tails
The unicorns
Trotted off

What do you
Want from them
So young
Old dog
Prowling
Sniffing
Ah but they are
So alive
So fresh
So vibrant
So bright
So naïve
What do I want
When I look
When I see
When I speak
Why
Their music
Of course
Their music
Brings me
Alive
Refreshed
Renewed
What do I want
Their smile
Their touch
Their music
For me

To return me
To life
Why
So that
I would touch
Your body
Only
To have you
Disappear

[by S. David] [art by Julia Fernandez]

Come sit with me

Breathe deep
Listen
He lied
He was an actor
An observer
He did not love
Another was
In his mind
With every act
Of passion
Oh here and
There lust
Even some
Tenderness
But it was
Not you
Another
Even as
He was in you
This is true
He wanted
My woman
Even as
I wanted you
I know
We spoke
He speaks
With her now
Even as I you
And all of us
We may lose

We had created
And I knew then

Wrong of course
For only

Did it flourish
We separated

And saw you
Shorn of all
Your glory
I watched you
With sad eyes
While
The earth burned
Our reality
Destroyed

Led me into

Anyway

He was a rue
He was a rake
A Don Juan
A Casanova
Dashing magnetic
Energetic once

Leave him alone
He did not spend
Many nights alone
And a juggler
So many at once
Until he was found out
Until he was found
And now some of the
Many having compared
Lives celebrate like

Lies on a platter
Jealousy is a
Powerful emotion
Hate is another
They cloud reason
Though not vengeance

Saga [part 1] 1
[by S. David] [art by Michael Cheval]

Attend! Hear! Obey!
Wyrd Sisters take up this decree!
Let Spirit animate flesh!
Let there be a new home
For this Soul!
Let it infuse a body!
Flood a mind!
Time and again
A new thread
In the tapestry
Another interweaving
Let this story commence
Let the saga continue

She haunts me still
She haunted me then
She haunts me now
This is a tale that
Does not will not
And perhaps cannot end
And we are both
Cursed to keep fragments
Of memories a scene
A cameo a moment
In time all interwoven
Into the linked tapestries
Of our Souls

From the high plains
Before the Sarasvati
Disappeared they came
And our first chapter
Was laid down she and I
And then across miles
And time our tale
Continues Pharonic Egypt
Many more centuries
The forests of Gaul
Again time now to
The North and Viking we
Still intersect interweave

Raced through

Like Athena
More like Sin
Appealing
Temping
In and of
Herself
To be worshipped
And he built
A world
Around her
Vested powers
In her
Powers over
Himself
Though he
Was walking
Among Gods
Walking to her
In adoration
Shameless
Adoration
And he fell
Forward
Before her
Worshipped
Awoke
Refreshed

Young when the world

Different before

Legend now knows
Atlantis Mu and
The Mediterranean
Had not appeared
Great works by
The hand of man
Have since dis-
-appeared and Ys
Is no more
Still when the sun
Strikes the sea
At strange angles
Light is cast upon
The seabed
Passing through
Once windows
Of a drowned
Cathedral fish
Swim through
Works that time
Finally overcame

More and
You can’t
Juggle your way
Out so you
Sweat
Still
They are
Now daylight
And still
They are
Before your
Eyes torment
Torment
You turn
To self
Flagellation
And still
No
Now what

Angels on my Shoulders 2
[by S. David] [art by Miguel Tio]

Really they’re there
Worse than the ghosts
That sometimes haunt me
Now I have to deal with
Angels of the Light
And of the Dark my choice
They say I must chose
But I don’t want to
I want to let things be
And for a change be
Passive receptive be
Acted upon not the one
That takes the lead
Let it be her not me
A relationship what else
I’m tired of pushing and
I’m trying to convince
These angels to stop
Harassing me let the
Woman choose
This time go away
I don’t need these
Angels on my shoulders

Haunted Room
[by S. David] [art by Miguel Tio]

Trusting
A promise is
A promise and
His word
He always kept
And so
She believed
And so
She waited
And so
She grew old
Awaiting
His return
Dead
He died
In the war
She never
Heard
She was not
Next of Kin
And they
Never knew
About her
And so
She sits
Waiting
Dead
Long ago
Still
She sits
Waiting

Return of the Cheshire Cat
[by S. David] [art by Frank Krasicki]

Last seen
Leaving its smile
Behind
After posing
Questions of
Ill-repute
Philosophizing
On living life
Why not fantasy
But now behold
The Dreamer
Dreams again
On the road again
The road goes on
Again
To when to where
And there in space
In a new place
Without trees
The air shimmers
A glimmer of
Sparkling
White flashes
And a smile
Is born reborn
In the air
Though
Nothing is there
But teeth meet
Lips appear
Drawn up into
The notorious
The glorious
Smile we
Remembered

Metamorphose
[by S. David] [art by Beatrice Burel]

Change
Growth
Perhaps
Just perhaps
Maturity
Sharp edges
Once so
Present
Once so
Prevalent
Slowly
Dissolving
Disappearing
A logic
A consistency
Is demanding
Recognition
Acceptance
Superiority
Control
And she did
Not like
The way
Her life was
Spinning
Out of
Non-control
She found
Herself
Actually
Planning
For her future

World Gone Wrong
[by S. David] [art by Joel Carpenter]

I looked at her
And I knew
So wounded
Her entire world
Gone wrong
It was written
In how she
Carried herself
It was written
On her face
She wasn’t a loser
She had lost
I watched a dude
Pick her up
No surprise there

The Trip of Infinite Steps 1
[by S. David] [art by Maria de Echevarria]

To be that which
You wish to be
A long journey
And the path is
Not always straight
Nor so narrow many
Branches many choices
Loom up in front of you

And she pressed
Forward upon
Her chosen road
No guideposts
Save from within
And every decision
She made she
Believed carried her
Onwards on her trip

She was so careful
Yet never seemed
To arrive where she
Thought her Path
Would lead though
Her steps were small
And infinitely many

Me, Talking to Myself in a Ray of Light
[by S. David] [art by Richard Gins]

It finally happened
To me too.
Too many of my friends
Were
This way already,
But,
Now, it reached me too,
For I just can’t seem
To find someone with
A willing ear,
I mean someone, female, new.
The guys have heard it, know it,
Live it themselves, yeah, they’re
Doing it too, so they say.
Anyway,
It was a cloudy, funky
Kind of day,
I was standing outside,
Trying to figure it out,
Talk myself through,
Out loud, it seems.
Finally made some decisions
When,
Well, the Gods must have
Approved, the clouds
Parted a space and
If anyone had come along,
They’d have seen
Me, talking to myself
In a ray of light.

Legs and a High Skirt
[by S. David] [art by Richard Gins]

She
Finally decided
She
Wasn’t as ugly as
She
Thought she was. Everybody says
She
Has great legs, a great body and
She’s
Good to look at, so
She’s
Taking the risk to show the world.
She’s
Coming out of her shell.
She’s
Put herself on display.
She’s
Actually having fun.
She’s
Enjoying the looks men give
Her.
