8095 Listen to the Wind
[by S. David] [art by Liviu Burlea]

She stood before me
Wind blowing her hair
I can’t forget
That day
We had driven
Out to the country
A state park
We walked a bit
To reach
An overlook’s edge
She turned to me
Behind her flat land
Spread out
From the woods
We had passed through
It was our third date
A fall date
She looked at me
A quizzical look
On her face and
Unbuttoned her blouse
Her breasts
Were full
I held my breath
I had wished
I had hoped
I had not
Expected her
To match my needs
A few moments
We were wrapped
Together
I asked her why
“Listen to the wind
If you want to know”
And it spoke
To our bodies
