Feather at the Museum
[by S. David] [art by Brendan Coyle]

Just because she has
Wings, it doesn’t mean
She’s an Angel. Feather
Is young and beautiful,
Once you get used
To her red eyes. But
They match her hair
And though she hangs
Out in some strange
Place, she does do
Galleries and when
Her wings are folded,
Even museums. It’s
Easier in winter
When she actually
Dresses up, but
It was summertime
And I don’t know
What other powers
She has, I mean, I
Saw her wings, while
We were there,
But no one else
Saw or they just
Didn’t have anything
To say. New Yorkers are
So very jaded anyway.

  1. This is a great work of art and I like the Spoonbill in the painting especially as it's feathers match hers in color.
Your writing on this brings a whole new layer of interest and entertainment. Yes, we New Yorkers would not even notice her wings. . .
    Good stuff,
